My favorite "Monster" from this Title...... "The Lurker in the Pit" from the same issue as the story....
"The Well" was from Creepy Things # 1....

Found it....!!!! My favorite horror comic story of my childhood.... My copy is hanging on the wall.....

Thanks for posting old horror comics. Part of me thinks Heaven might just be a perpetual rainy day in a dimly lit basement stacked with infinite horror comics, a couple of friends, and nowhere to go.
