Frankenstein.....

as we said Frankenstein was the name of the Doctor who created the Monster...
Peter Cushing was the mad Doctor we watched as a kid... (having just been released to television)...

The best source for "digging up" images of Frankenstein (as well as other Universal Monsters... is
Classic Movie Monsters

But, Thomas Edison made the first Film version of this tale by Mary Shelly, back in 1910....

Monster was played by Charles Oggle (from Ohio)

A bit More with the Monster....

Universal's most famous of monsters.... Karloff's image is know across the world....

Boris Karloff (William Henry Pratt) was wearing a make-up designed by the great Jack Pierce...

A bit More with Frankenstein....

                                                Hello and Good Morning....

will try to get  a bit more rest in a bit...

Nothing like a bit of high voltage electricity to start your day....

Seems that Universal has pulled all clips of this 85 year old film... so much for 50 years till a "Copyright" ends.... all thanks to that moron in office and his damned CAS ....
Above is a tribute to the make-up design of Jack Pierce... enjoy....

More Universal Classic Movie Monsters to come....

.... we will begin on their (1931) "Dracula" later... as performed by the great Bela Lugosi....
But the "Frankenstein's Monster" has come to be Universal's Best known and most popular "Movie Monster"... and Jack Pierce's make-up design for Boris Karloff ("neck-bolts" and flat head...) Thus this "Creature" has become world renowned an easily recognized "Monster" , recognizable by young and old the world over....

The old Frankenstein Monster (or Skeleton) were ordered from a comic book and hung upon the inside of kids rooms in the early 70's...Classic Movie Monsters
For lots of great images of this Universal Studio's Monster and Many others... Check out "Classic Movie Monsters" ... a truly great blog for fans of Horror films...

Just for Laughs....

We will "dig up" more on this great "Movie Monster" after our return from doctor visit....
in the film (this was a very funny scene....)
Peter Boyle (as the Monster) and Gene Hackman gave a great humorous performance in this scene...
... they seem to have removed all other clips of this film.... even "Abby Someone.... ahh, Abby Normal"... that was one of my favorite scenes....
                                               Be back later, Kiddies....

Dr. Frankenstein' Monster...

as portrayed by the great Actor , William Henry Pratt... better known as "Boris Karloff"...

That role was to be later played by others , including Glen Strange....

And such a Great performance , that he makes the audience actually feel "pity" for this murderous Monster... and with very little "dialogue" ... simply by his "mannerisms"  he was able to convey this creature's emotions and "mind-set"...

His "iconic" image is what most people think of this "Monster" (though , many others have portrayed him .... Karloff's performance is the one that we "remember"...

As for the "Doctor".... Peter Cushing will always be the actor that I remember from my childhood...

this poor creature has even been played for "laughs" ... like Mel Brooks "Young Frankenstein"...
