He returns to extract "Revenge" upon the Doctors who failed to save his lovely wife...
While rushing to the hospital he has a fiery car crash and is thought to be Dead...
Using the Nine Plagues of Egypt ( from the Old Testament)

The first victim shown is done in by blood drinking Bats....
And drained poor Terry Thomas (of Mary Poppins) of all of his "Blood"
and the curse of "Rats"....
Froze the poor bastard for the curse of "Hail"...
and the poor Nurse and her death by "Locust"....
Special preparations were need for this one...
And the curse of "Beasts" ... impaled by a brass Unicorn head...
Then the curse of the "Death of the First Born"....
Phibes starts the acid flowing its way to the boy's face...
He must work quickly to save his son...
And the final curse of "Darkness"....
Phibes is one of my absolute favorite Price characters. I believe the creators of Saw even sited the finale as a source of inspiration for the movies.
ReplyDeleteI love Vincent Price but I don't think I've ever seen this movie. I always liked Terry-Thomas in a movie too -- haven't seen one of his in ages either. I know I shouldn't laugh at the unicorn impalement but I couldn't help myself.
ReplyDeleteDear Lady Debra... the Unicorn scene was "Funny".... they had to "unscrew his body from the partition it was a comical scene....
ReplyDeleteand Dex... this is my favorite Vincent Price film... in later interviews ... Mr. Price talked of the fun he had making "Dr. Phibes" and "Theater of Blood"...
