One of the biggest "disappointments" of my childhood.....
we were visiting my Grandmother.... and it had rained for most of that day.... after the rains stopped.... there was this beautiful Rainbow....!!
What made it so "Awesome" was that the end of it was only about a block and a half away in the woods.... this I had to see.... well, find it ... (could only be viewed a bit back from it... and it did Not reach the ground... ( the "End" was about three stories up... I stood there and looked up and cryed ... ( was 0nly 9 or 10 at the time).....
... just another "shattered" dream.... especially to a kid...
Living with uncle Henry and auntie Em on a farm in the middle of nowhere must've been boring as hell
ReplyDeleteNo, "Grandma Maude" and my Uncle Hubert ( he raised my Dad)....
DeleteNo one around here back then... and most other kids hated me an would pick on me if they saw me... so avoided most people...
... Just life in this small Southern Town....
There's a reason no one has ever found that goddamn pot o' gold.
ReplyDeleteAnd hey, thanks for your comment telling me about the "Grendel" book. I like the Beowulf legend and would be interested in reading it from Grendel's point of view for a change! I've put the book on my "to read" list.
I have read it six or seven times.... and will often quote it as well....
Delete"... Why not ? Why Not? the Darkness hissed around me..... imagination, I know.... Twas only some Evil inside myself..." one of my favorite quotes of all time...
