Those Classic Monsters.....

a  Monster seldom posted about at our "Crypt"......

"Frankenstein" .... ( or more correctly "Frankenstein's Monster")
A great use of shadows in this photo....
Probably the most "iconic" "Monster" of films.....

Jack Pierce designed the "look" for Boris Karloff......
                                                 another night of body snatching.....
Made from a batch of dead body parts and then given life.... "Creepy" concept....
But this well known "reanimated Corpse" was filmed even years before becoming such a big hit for Universal Studios..... by none other than Thomas Edison....!!!! (back in 1910)
Originally created by the Doctor in a "creation Chamber" designed by him... (As Mary Shelly and Mr. Edison both told)....

Charles Oogle , a minister's son portrayed "the Monster"....

The Universal Pictures version is where we get to see the "Monster brought to life by "electricity"....!!! thus (along with his "flat head and "neck Bolts" ) New elements added that have forever become part of the recognized visage of this most "iconic of All Movie monsters.......!!!!

And Mr. Karloff's great performance made the audience feel pity for this poor creature.....
And many Thanks to that Great Blog "Classic Movie Monsters" for these great images.....

Anyone who enjoys the "Classic Monsters" ... (or John Carpenter's "Halloween") this is a wonderful site to view images..... we have found None better on-line...!!!

  2. The creation scene from the Edison's Frankenstein is really gross. It almost made me puke.
