Morning Viewers...

a bit chilly in here at present...(weather said temps in the 40's at present)...
We hope that you all are well this day....
Just over a week till Halloween....!!! only 8 more days.....
Going through dozens of saved files ans thousands of images at present ... already been at it for going on an hour.... trying to find images for this post....

A lot of images to view.... (wish that we had a working Scanner)
going over our much older saved files....
So we will see what we can find in these old files....
Cool, wrapping paper featuring classic Universal Monsters...
We had thought of picking a "Monster" and doing a post or two on them....
But there are So Very Many from which to choose...
So we are Still looking..., nearly an hour thus far....
we had to include at least one "Pumpkin".....
Barbie and Friends....
Another gathering of famous "Monsters....
We remember wanting this toy / mask as a kid....
made of cheap, thin plastic.... but we still wanted it....
its price of over $7.00 prevented this....

it was one of three designs made in this series...
it was due to the monstrous creations for their horror films , that Universal' s concepts of their designs are the "iconic"  images that come to our mind when we think of these "Monsters" ...
Most of these movies came out a good many years before Stacey was even born...

A cool image from that late, Great artist ...."Jack Davis"...

These were the "Monsters" that we grew up watching on TV....
But the "Classics" are for the most part ....gone...
We have "new" "Movie Monsters" these days.... Most of them "Slashers"....
though some of these are really great characters... it would seem that "Gore" has replaced "Horror" ...
These days most movie "Monsters" are simply brutal killers, who leave a gory mess in their wake....
... from time to time ... they actually make a Good "Horror Film"... and not just another "Gore-Fest")
took us about an hour and a 1/2 to make this post... we hope that you like it....

  3. Personally I prefer the old monster movies to the new torture-porn types. Give me a Hammer film over Saw any day. Even when they were "inventive murder" films like Dr. Phibes or Lionheart, they didn't seem to need to dwell on the gross bits.

  4. Mr. Price's character of "Lionheart" (from "Theater of Blood" even had the lovely Diana Rigg)...Price said on numerous occasions that was his "Favorite" of his many films... and we have been a Big fan of "Dr. Phibes"... the same picture of "Phibes" has hung on my wall for over 40 years....

  5. I don't think anyone will ever top Jack Pierce's Frankenstein as a monster design. He's the beast to beat!
