It's that ego man. You can be smart as the dickens, and your ego will trip you up and make you look a fool.
ReplyDeleteEgo is sense-of-self in context of the social hierarchy. And if you feel alienated and marginalized in your social relationships your ego will make you think and do some bizarre shit to keep it stable.
On the other hand, if you feel validated and influential within your social group, your ego will relax, and let you focus more on the needs of others.
That's the key, right there. It's not about your place in the hierarchy, and how valuable you are, it's about how much you are doing for everyone else in the group. Right? That true, unthinking, un-affected consideration for others. That's the key to be happy.
