I was 11. This left such an impression on me. Funny, just last week i decided to re-watch this movie, due to all the talk about Prometheus. It's still pure cinematic gold. The amount of details in the sets, the atmosphere, the pace... just stunning. Perfect film. Most of my friends prefer the faster and action oriented Aliens, but for me, the 1979 classic is the true masterpiece.
Ron Cobb designed all of the "human" elements ( except for the Space Suits...They were designed by the late Great artist Mobius...during his short time assisting in pre-production designs)All of the "alien" aspects were designed by H.R.Giger...thus the Great Contrasts in the finished film....
