Georges Melies.... the Great Entertainer...

using extensive "Stage-craft" (along with his mastery of stage illusions) ... a truly talented man...

    

He  created some of the first Fantasy and Sci-Fi on film !!! his "A Trip to the Moon" (1902) was one of the first Sci-Fi themed films ever made... using assorted camera-tricks as well as life-sized "cut-outs" , he created some wonderful on screen visuals... A "visionary"... out to Entertain audiences ... he had been a master stage performer for years before trying the new medium of "Motion-Pictures"

                                                  and an image of the set used ....
Even made this short ... (the First Horror Film !!!)... Some older footage of a train arriving was the first film to "scare" viewers"... but he was the first to try to "scare" a movie audience...
