Was watching a newer version (from 2009 in Two Parts) Day of the Triffids.....
even read the novel as a young teen... in late teens saw the BBC version on PBS.....

ReplyDeleteYes we researched on carnivorous plants at a young age....
DeleteCoastal Carolina (at the site of ancient impact crater now filled in by swamp) down near Fort Sumter is the only natural habitat for the Venus Fly Trap , the Cobra Pitcher Plant And the Sundew.... are only found there....
most of the other carnivorous plants are like the pitcher plant in function... and there are (fresh water) things like the Bladder wort Whose roots have small orbs , podilke growths that capture small prey....
A favorite subject to us as a kid....
I have heard great things about this movie. It sits on my shelf in hopes of watching it some day.
