A to Z ... "D" is for "Dr. Phibes"...

Yes Vincent Price's Character... This image has hung in my room since early childhood...

And one of Mr. Price favorite "roles"... he "had Fun" with this one...

A gleefully evil character and such "inventive" ways to kill his victims...

Like the "green goop" that he cooked up and used on the sleeping nurse to get the locust to Eat her as she slept... One that we really remembered (for Years)...

And thanks to sedative that the doctors had given her she never felt a thing...

One of my favorite fictional characters since early childhood... An enjoyable thing for us to watch.!!!

and the death of Dr. Kitti by Rats while flying a small plane...

All these deaths to avenge the death of his lovely wife....
We read the novelization of this one several times as a teen...

  1. In Prison (many years ago) we asked to watch the Sequel ("Dr. Phibes Rises Again")... was argued with so I threatened to snatch the TV down and destroy it if Not allowed to watch this one... Even the Guard locked me in the TV room (it was after "Lockdown" ) so, he let me stay up about an hour extra, He rather "pleasant" to me (we never caused any troubles) ... still did not get to see the ending , but did get to watch most of the movie...
... A memory that we would rather not dwell too much upon...

  3. I have not seen Dr Phibes - I really should rectify that. My husband is a big Vincent Price fan, so I have an excuse :)

    1. The film was done with more than a bit of "dark humor" in the story... In later years Mr. Price said that it ("Dr. Phibes") was a favorite of his and along with "Theater of Blood" was the roles that he ha the most Fun in performing...
... was glad to hear that it went well for him, dear Lady... Wishing him a speedy recovery...
