A to Z Villain for Today is is Normally a "Hero"....
Professor X ( of the X-Men) went "insane" ( Not quite sure of that part of the story)
...He became the "All-Powerful" super villain "Onslaught".....
Using the Sentinels as his army he went to destroying all heroes and villains alike....
a few Marvel characters were killed off and many others badly wounded....
and the poor Professor "trapped" inside in torment....
You can even see him inside on this action figure....

Out of control! How unlike Professor Xavier. Glad it didn't last.
ReplyDeleteXavier finally regained "himself"... and that was the end of Onslaught...
ReplyDeleteI knew this about Prof X, but never actually read the comics when it happened. My sister collects them and she knew. Great theme! So sorry you got left off the list. The volunteers who put this together are only human and do make mistakes. Please don't let that ruin your experience... I think you've done a great job here! ReplyDeleteThank You for your compliments and for your concern..., dear Lady Lisa...
ReplyDeleteI remember reading this whole story when i was in my early teens. It was quite sad to see the Professor lose control like this and it was devastating to see so many heroes give up their lives. (obviously they all came back, but still.) Onslaught taught us that even the good can succumb to the pressures of the world and go bad.
ReplyDeleteLove how that figurine has Xavier peaking through the back.
With a completely "Tormented" look on his face, just staring "helplessly" from inside...
DeleteHope that you are well my Friend and a Great Weekend to you...
Not a huge cartoon fan, but admire the artistry involved.
ReplyDeleteHello dear Lady ... We first learned of your blog from "Precious Monsters"..
DeleteTell dear Lady Jolie that we said hello ... (she remembers us as the "Nut-case" from a bit back....
A Great Weekend to you and yours...
We collected the "Trading Cards" of villains for many years... some really great art work on some of them... we have even had many of my cards signed by the artists who drew them..
Hi Dr. Theda,
ReplyDeleteSorry you got left off of the A to Z Challenge. (I saw your comment at the A to Z blog.)
As far as my "sociopathic nut jobs" section of my "Author Forums: 6 Reasons Why I Avoid Them," you and I had a conversation about this a year or two ago.
You've chosen to take my words and make them about YOU, when they have NOTHING to do with you. And that's truly unfortunate.
Enjoy your weekend.
Dear Lady ... we were just poking a bit of "fun" at my own "mental issues"... No offense intended...
DeleteYou do not even know me... so how could your post have been about Me....???
We were having a bad time at the time that we originally read your post... (it hit a bad "nerve") that was the reason for the original response... I told the person to tell you "hello from the "Nut-Case"... simply so you would know Who we were... thought that you might remember ....
So sorry to have offended you dear Lady Jolie....
You have No idea how "truly Unfortunate" my miserable excuse for a life is.... and not just the health issues and the poverty....
