That quote has stuck in my head since early childhood...
A collection of his poems and short stories was the first classic Horror that we had read as a small child... This was my first exposure to "classic" Horror... ( we had seen horror movies on TV)...
He had a wonderful writing style as well... and seldom gave himself credit for his great talent...
... And now a little something from Mr. Poe...
and a brief history of this great author.....
He had a short and tragic life in so many ways. But he produced works of genius and at least that is recognized posthumously.
