A favorite of mine as well, Good Doctor. I remember watching this when it first aired and was thrilled with every episode. Besides being a fine actor to being with, Darren McGavin was perfectly cast for this role. Simon Oakland as his crusty old boss was super, too, and reminded me of Peter Parker's newspaper boss, J. Jonah Jameson, in the Spider-Man comics. Gil Melle's excellent theme and score and the voice over narration set the tone for a horror show with hardboiled crime undertones. Every once in a while, I watch an episode and I think they still hold up pretty well. Long Live Kolchak!
ReplyDeleteYes good Sir... we used to record (sound only) every episode and listen to them often... My Family were Very good to us about watching this show... Always made sure to make it back home in time for us to watch it...
