Post #200 My Favorite Film

Been a hectic day....Brother and his kids just left trying to "explain" Math....( %'s ) to my Brother ..( He is working on his GED .... My answers are Right ... But My method of reaching a solution is Not "Their Way" of reaching the correct answer....
 Well enough of That.... on with the movie....My Favorite movie of all time is Clive Barker's "Nightbreed"

 

Based off of his "short novel" ( people look confused when I say "novella") Cabal..... First there are the "Breed" These are the "monsters" who dwell beneath the expansive graveyard called Midian... These assorted Creatures are a greatly varried lot ... ( I have read on the backgrounds of some of these characters) They "hide from the light of day" for sunlight will destroy some of them ( some can only be slain by other things... like fire, or silver,...etc. ) they live in their underground lair ( a massive expanse of tunnels and chambers, Some quite large, some even dozens of feet in size.) They live under the "Laws of the Breed"  (This includes  Laws against the eating of human flesh and anything that may either endanger the Breed or cause a "risk" of detection of them and their lair by Humans...)

The breed follow their God  ( who is put together of the parts of him that were saved from destruction centuries ago ).....Their story of their origin and backgrounds is way too vast to cover here ....

The Character of Dr. Decker is my Favorite ...

This killer has taken upon himself to rid the world of the Breed and their genetic descendants Thus destroying them from the face of the earth.....

I will post more on the characters and their adventures in later posts..... ( Need to scan my Nightbreed comic books) And Again a very happy 94th Birthday to the "Cool Ghoul" himself....Zacherly.... And a happy 13th to Google....

Movie Time

                             
Well its "Movie Time" again this time from 1980 "the Boogens"  I first saw this movie in my youth... The story takes place in an isolated mining town... as they attempt to reopen the old mine they release these creepy things upon their town ...where they lurk in the underground tunnels often emerging from the cellars of some of the older houses in search of prey  ( these monsters also look like some twisted type of turtle...) Thanks to my friend Alex I have this movie on my computer....

 

This "one word" warning is more "direct" than the more common "Beware" sign that is normally posted.

Little Monsters

A comic book from my youth...  the "little monsters" were one of my early childhood memories...
 ( I even had the coloring book)... Here is a story that I had as a child...

   They were a creepy fun family from the days of my youth....

Movie Monsters

From one of my favorite horror films "Phantasm" The Tall Man...

 as portrayed by actor Angus Scrimm (real name Rory Guy) The tall man has frightened Film goers since 1979. I went to the late showing of this movie as a teen... I laughed as I watched others in the theater terrified by him and the sinister "silver spheres" some even ran screaming from the theater... after the movie was over , I saw several people comforting those who were badly frightened ...One girl cowering in the lobby as she slowly rocked back and forth...  this film caused some of the best reactions to a film that I have ever seen !!

Movie Time

This time another British film staring Peter Cushing   I give you "Island of Horror"

 

these creepy monsters (who look like a cross between a turtle and a vaccuum cleaner) are created in a lab on a small isolated island... They escape and roam the countryside in search of victims... They suck the bones from their prey.. first cows then farmers...

 

They reproduce by "division" much like a single-celled organism....

as I have stated before ...I like my monsters on the "creepy side"...

Story Time Again

this time on this day of the "Cool Ghoul's" Birthday ... another tale with a "twist" ("twisted") ending... From 1951 a publication called "Mysterious Adventures #5" and drawn by comic artist Lou Cameron... we present the story of "the Pool of Eternity"

 

Poor David.. I guess he did stop when he was aHead...
